Outreach

In thankfulness for God's love, we seek to serve Christ in the community and world by responding to issues of justice, peace, hunger, and poverty.

The Mt. Hope neighborhood of Providence's East Side in which we are situated is one of great social and economic diversity and provides us with many opportunities for outreach.

Each Sunday, we include in our morning offerings gifts of nonperishable food items. These food offerings are contributed to the Camp Street Ministries located 4 blocks from our church. On the 3rd Saturday of each month, a crew from PPC works at the Camp Street Food Pantry, showing God's love to those in need. For further information about volunteering at Camp Street Ministries please talk to Julie Baldwin or Bob Pruchniewicz.

Nine Twelve Step support groups meet throughout the week in our basement.

Over 15% of our annual budget goes to mission projects through Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly, community and worldwide missions. We take up denominational offerings during the year, One Great Hour of Sharing during Lent, Peacemaking at World Communion and Christmas Joy offerings. At Christmas, we also provide an Alternative Giving Program, where one can honor friends and relatives with gifts to various mission programs, local and worldwide.

College Fellowship is important to us as we welcome new and continuing students each year to the schools in our area. If you are a student new to the area, we offer a home away from home and a variety of opportunities for fellowship and mission off campus with other students.
